In 1937, Edward Vantine Sr. left Boston and headed towards Syracuse in search of a fresh start.
Taking a wrong turn, he ended up at the Colgate Inn in Hamilton, NY. A photographer by trade, Edward started taking pictures of the fraternity brothers at Colgate University, developing his film in the bathtub. Hamilton soon became his home and Vantine Studios was created as the first Collegiate Composite Company servicing fraternities and sororities nationwide.
Sixty-eight years ago, a photographer with only a bathroom for a darkroom had a dream. This dream turned into reality as Edward Vantine Sr. created Vantine Studios, the United States' first Collegiate Composite Photography Company servicing fraternities and sororities. In 2001, under the leadership of Edward Vantine Jr. and his son, David Vantine, Vantine Studios forged ahead into the millennium as Vantine Imaging. Remaining the industry leader in technology, quality and customer service, Vantine Imaging continues to create composites for sororities, fraternities and other member organizations nationwide.
